Organizational empowerment (OE) is a key construct in community psychology. We build on current understandings of OE by exploring history and systemic relationships as important aspects of OE. We con Employee empowerment starts with the concept of strategic fit between people, tasks, technology and organization structure. Empowered employees depict more trust in their managers. Empowerment practices are often implemented with the hope of overcoming worker dissatisfaction and reducing the costs of absenteeism, turnover and poor quality working condition. Empowerment is a way to give employees greater authority and responsibility to take care of the needs of the customer and to provide employees with the means for making influential decisions. Everyone within an organization should be involved in managing customer expectations and improving quality. To accomplish these tasks, we examine data from our survey of all registered LPNs in a Midwestern US state on their levels of organizational trust, psychological empowerment, and organizational commitment.
